Trouble Shooting and Basic Programming

Before calling Mesa for a repair, please see the list below of troubleshooting tips that can fix common problems.

Your door won't open.

Solution: If trying to engage door from wall console – check make sure wall button is illuminated if not check make sure there’s power to the unit.

If trying to engage door from remotes –

  • a) Check lockout/vacation button on wall console
  • b) Change batteries in remote. Even though they may be new batteries, please try to replace them.

Door won't close.

Solution: Check both sensors make ensure that the LED lights are on. if both lights are solid then check door way for obstructions. It may be something as simple as a cobweb. If lights are flashing make sure both sensors are pointed directly at one another until the lights become solid.

Garage Door Motor turns on (light turns on) but door doesn’t move?

Solution: Please check to see if on the inside of the garage the red "disengage" pull cord has been pulled. its usually located where the top of the garage door meets the track, top center of the door. If it has, you need to reengage the motor. Although motor most motors will automatically reengage when door travels up or down some need you to manually reengage. To do so, align trolley with carriage and flip lever on trolley to up position to relock carriage to the trolley.

Solution: Press and release learn/smart button – then press desired location on your remote light should flash – then press remote a second time door should open or close…

Vault Release

Solution: Insert key and pull cylinder from lock hole to disengage trolley - then insert cylinder back in lock hole before raising the door.
