Garage Door Basketball Hoop

Basketball is without a doubt one of the most beautiful games in the whole world. Anyone who has seen Dwight Howard ferociously block a shot, or Blake Griffin spin out a three sixty slam dunk, or Kobe Bryant nail a lightening-fast turn around jump shot will know this. Players like Carmelo Anthony and Shane Batier have been practicing for hours every day for basically their entire lives to play as well as they do. It requires athleticism and feats of physical strength, precision of hand eye coordination, and tremendous skill. It takes a lot out of you, leaving men our of breath, sweaty, and stronger tha nyou were before.

You probably aren't as good at basketball as Kobe Bryant, or even Luke Walton. You probably can't dunk on a ten foot basket, or hit jump shots from twenty one feet out. Not to malign your skill sets, but less than .001 percept of people in this country are as good at basketball as an NBA player. You are probably a more casual player, as well, and it's probably lots of fun.

But even backyard street ballers may accidentally damage a garage door by paying basketball. Even if you're not capable of jumping and hitting a ten foot rim, you're definitely capable of accidentally slamming your garage door with the basketball. Over and over. Let's say you miss the same shot in horse over and over. Maybe you keep banging the same place again and again.  Eventually, and especially if the door is wood or aluminum, you are going to dent your door or even break it. Garage doors, while fairly strong, are susceptible to damage like anything else.

To protect your door, place your basketball hoop away from your garage door, not over it. Or go play in the park. Or, you can replace your door with a stronger polyblend synthetic material, instead of dentable aluminum or breakable wood.
