Extra Heavy Garage Door

While most of residential consumers have standard sized doors (it makes it much easier to get garage door installation and garage door repair), some people like to go off the beaten track on this. Especially anyone with a non-roll up door (those tend to be more standardized) may want to check this out.

For example, doors with any wrought-iron window working will be especially heavy, and certain wooden garage doors can be heavier than a normal garage door opener can handle. Then there are the two-car garages, three-car garages, and more commercial garage doors- a normal opener will have difficulties.

There's a solution to this problem- you have to invest in a high-powered garage door opener. Many brands have such models, but the Chamberlain PD752D especially has more than 50% more lifting power than standard motors. It basically just uses more horse power- be warned, it also uses up more energy. And, it's a chain-drive, which means it's pretty noisy.  However, overall it's considered a good sturdy, reliable opener for those gorgeous, special doors that need a little extra oomph. It also comes with one of those handy wireless outdoor keypads that don't require a remote.
