Now that the fire is out from the San Bruno, CA gas explosion, the finger pointing and recriminations have begun. Pacific Gas and Electric has been accused of skimping on repairs, even after receiving approval from the California Utility Commission to commence repairs in 2007.
PG&E has promised to cover repairs and replacements for folks who lost everything who might also have been under-insured. The news articles stated that this was to be over and above the normal. PG&E has also promised to set up a $100 Million fund for victims of the explosion and has already started giving out $50,000 checks for immediate needs.
