It
seems the main problems people have with their garage doors is actually their
garage door openers. Which makes sense, as these mechanisms have the most parts
and the most potentially faulty systems. It may seem overwhelming to repair or
troubleshoot a garage door opener, bit if you can identify the major problem,
it’s possible to figure it out from there.
The
very first question you should ask yourself is- is the problem with the door
itself, or with the mechanisms of the opener? If it’s the latter, you’ll need
to gather yourself some tools to do the job.
Just
like any small moving accessory, garage door openers are liable to break down
after a little while. Replacement parts are usually available at hardware
stores, or you can purchase them online.
You’ll probably also need a screwdriver, a wrench, oil or WD40
(depending on the material the parts are made of), and a tall glass of lemonade
with iced tea. We recommend, as tempting as it is, NOT to spike your drink.
The
basic process is this- identify which parts need replacement, detach and
deactivate the machine, pull the old parts out, and put the new parts in.
