Garage
door opener manufacturers can have lots of helpful hints about the inner
workings of your garage door (though you may not be able to implement or even
understand them on your own!) They can let you know about how to open/close or
detach the opener mechanism from the door. They can help you with the safety
reversing sensors that most garage doors these days are equipped with.
If
safety sensors in a garage door are miswired or not aligned properly, or if you
have somehow manages to blow a
fuse or a wire, you have to make sure to realign or reconnect them. The door
may attempt to close and reverse, and then the opener light bulb will flash
over and over. However, if you have a wall-push button, applying pressure will
fully close the door in most occasions.
These
sensors tend to be special electronic beams that are passed between two sender ‘eyes’
that use the laws of electromagnetism to send messages. They themselves might
also need adjusting or might incur damage, so if you’re experiencing problems
with your safety mechanisms, these may be the culprits. Check the indicator lights to see if
they are working.
